Functions and Responsibilities

The statuary duties and related functions of the Parish Council are limited. However, it has the discretionary powers to act in a wider area if it chooses. 

As well as taking direct action the Council responds to many consultation papers from National organisations and lobbies other bodies and higher tier councils on matters of importance to residents and businesses. Councillors are, in some cases, appointed to represent the Council at local groups’ committee meetings.

The Council works from its premises situated in the Lowford Community Centre.
